Day 16

Adam, Pike and I headed up to Dayton to dig through the treasures at Mendelson's in hopes of finding useful bits for the Ballroom project. We were able to pick up a few essential pieces, after a couple of hours of browsing through thousands of bins and shelves and boxes.

If you've never made the trip to this place, you should plan on making a day of it. The mixed media artist in me has a slight panic attack upon entering the 3rd floor. Rows and rows and rows of unidentifiable mechanical and electrical parts, lighting, computer bits, machinery, piping, steel, plastic, tubing, grates, gears, conveyor belts, chains, boxes, hardware, buttons, manikins, display cases, springs, keys, wires, crates... A visual overload for someone who sees possible artwork in just about any found object. Yes, a 3-story warehouse of found objects. I was so overwhelmed by the time we left, I wasn't sure if I wanted to make artwork or take a nap.

So I took a nap.
